Coronavirus – Factory Updates

Latest Update 27/02/2020

Hi, I just wanted to give you a quick update with the situation in China presently, Coronavirus and the impact it is having on your packaging.

Firstly, be assured none of your packaging is coming from the origin province, WuHan, or neighbouring provinces. There are still limitations by the government both nationally and locally resulting in reduced transportation for air and sea freight. We have spoken with all key factory staff and been assured that they are well, and ready to return to work if they have not already done so.

Factories have put in place the government measures that state the owners need masks for their staff, sanitizer and thermometers to ensure that workers are free from the symptoms of the virus and if shown that they can be quarantined for 14 days. Once this is in place an inspector needs to approve the factory to open.

As of today, factories are returning every day and we are getting notification the day before that the factory needs to pass inspection for opening.

Weltrade Packaging, has mitigated our risk by working with factories with a high percentage of local staff, meaning that when the factory opens it can produce relatively quickly without waiting for extended periods for staff to travel to work.

We will update this page daily with the latest information.
